Jumping on The Video Bandwagon

I purchased a Flip Ultra last night from my local Best Buy.

After reading so many posts and comments about this little camera I decided I needed to take a look at it for myself.  While I am not ready to post any of my initial video attempts I can document my initial impressions.

Flip UltraThe camera was well packaged in a stylish box unlike the 30 minute version which is packaged in a blisterpac plastic bag.

There is little documentation included with the camera. There is no need for documentation as the camera is so simple to operate.

Included was a carrying bag, cables to connect to other devices, warranty card and batteries.

I loaded the batteries and turned on the camera. It sprang to life and I was able to start filming. Total time to open box and to record a video. Less than two minutes. Time to record a video that I am willing to share.... not sure yet =)

I was playing around with the camera today when I stopped down at the waterfront. I am so impressed with how easy it is to use and how nice the images are from it. I especially liked the images once I remembered to remove the clear plastic lense cover. Yes there is a small disc of plastic over the lense. Once removed the images are really much clearer. Much clearer indeed.

I am really excited to see how I will use this little tool in my business. Tomorrow I am going out to a new listing and I am going to try to create a video to show off the yard and all of the flowers in bloom. This should make a nice impression on potential buyers who look at the listing online.

Best wishes,

Scott

Scott- Oh my gosh! I am going to run over and check to see if that little plastic film is on my camera! I am glad it was so easy. I love that it is so light and you can take it anywhere, running on batteries makes it a gem!

It gets easier and you get better.  In one year, you will look at what you do today and be amazed.  Good luck!  Clients love seeing those video tours.  We have sold listings to people who saw the video and told the Realtor they wanted to see the house.  One buyer emailed his friends all over the world the video of his new house.  It was really cool to see all the foreign countries people were viewing from...

We've read so much initially about the Flip that it's fun to read these posts as people venture out and try it. I look forward to seeing your results.

Terry- You are correct. For some reason video just did not interest me as a tool I wanted to use. Now that I have it and I have seen others results I see that I needed to get one and use it in business.

Katerina- I was so shocked when my son removed the plastic and said "this might make a difference" =)

Peter- I hope you're right! So far my results are less than I have hoped for. Trust me the bar I set was not very high either!

Bob- It's a really cool little unit. I think that it really is a useful tool for agents too.
