What is the 2015 Reno RGJ Water Savers Club?

Search Reno homes for saleThe 2015 Reno RGJ Water Savers Club was created by the Reno Gazette Journal.  You can track your usage through their simple online form here.  The goal is to help Reno residents lower their water usage by five million gallons during the summer months.  Even though we are in August, it is never too late to sign up.

The average Reno-Sparks resident uses around 120,000 gallons of water annually.  Approximately half of that is for their landscaping alone.  The TMWA would like everyone to reduce their usage by 10%.  This would help relieve quite a bit of the pressure on local resources.

To get tips from the 2015 Reno RGJ Water Savers Club on how you can conserve your usage, like the RGJ Water Savers Facebook page.  When you sign up to join the club, subscribe to their weekly newsletter.  Then, you can have helpful tips delivered right to your inbox.  Both of these sources will also keep you advised of upcoming conservation events throughout the year.  One such event is the Battle Born Drought at Heritage on Wednesday, August 12th from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.  Jeff DeLong, a reporter with the RGJ, and TMWA Director of Natural Resources Mr John Erwin will be talking about typical water usage, giving conservation tips and discussing our Reno climate to guests at an informal meeting.  They will be joined by DRI climatologist David Simeral.  The public is welcome to join in this free event.

Join the 2015 Reno RGJ Water Savers Club today.  Get helpful tips on reducing your water usage.  This is great for both the community at large and your own pocket book.  After all, the less water you use, the less you have to pay for.  Do you have any helpful water-saving tips of your own?  Please share them in my comments section below.
