The First Step Is To Admit You Have A Problem

By
Real Estate Agent with Integrity Real Estate Group

I'm here with a confession.  I've developed an addiction.  There are days when I find myself immersed and hard to pull away.

The good news is my addiction has helped my business and given me an appreciation for those who can put together a room or two and make them shine for my clients.

Though not every seller needs staging many of them can benefit from a consultation to understand what helps buyers feel like a property can be a place they call home.

New Listing Triangle VA
When the owners of this home called me to chat about listing my first thoughts were 1) beautiful home 2) how do we improve it to sell?   The owner had nice furnishings but the walls were bare and it just didn't say come and stay for awhile.  A phone call for a staging consultation, switching of furniture in rooms and The Staging Fashionista added accessories.  BAM the house now feels warm and ready for a buyer.

So there you have it.  I've admitted my problem and found a way to make it work for my clients.  Do you have an addiction that's helping your business?  Go ahead it's okay to admit it.

Cindy, Pinterest has helped us.  We've created various boards that tie back to our blog posts.  We get followers and some incremental business from a small section of those folks, but any new business from the minimal amount of additional time I spend on Pinterest is a good return.

Bliz I too have used Pinterest for neighborhood information with good success.  It's the time I spend aborbed in the  "I can do that" or "I want that"  process that's the problem

Cindy- you have inspired me to try to get back into Pinterest.  My addiction?  It's reading everything about anything I can get my hands on.

Pinterest drives me nuts. When I really WANT something, it's not for sale. I just want to click through and order it. Too many beautiful things I can't have.

Dana Hollish Hill agree.  At least on Houzz you get the green tags so you can see product manufacturers.

Hi Cindy...I have spent very little time on Pinterest. The reason: The two times I was on there I didn't want to leave.

I love Houzz also. Could look at those articles/photos all day long.

Addictions can be good.   I am addicted to regulations.   I know you're saying "Oh, how boring !"

However, on my side of the transaction, that's a good thing for Realtors.   I make sure I've crossed every T and dotted every i so there are no issues for your clients.   And yes, I too like to spend hours looking at the pictures

Good Monday morning Cindy. The right addiction can be good. I know a lot of folks who spend a lot of time on Pintrest. They do have some good recipes.

It is good to see that your special addiction is very productive.

Home sellers are in good hands when they select you as their listing agent.
