Ever get the feeling you were suppose to be somewhere and when you got there, you're not sure why???

This happened to me last night.  When I logged onto my computer yesterday morning, I saw a Yelp.com email.  It advertised a meeting taking place in my area, Campbell.  The group is called "Ladies Who Launch".  The email advertised an event for ladies only...

"What/Why:

Ladies Who Launch is the ultimate destination for women launching businesses or creative projects. It is one of the best investments you can make toward reaching your goals! Connect with like-minded ladies, find and develop partnerships, promote your products and services, and get the resources that you need to move your business along.

We will have a panel of Lady Launchers give their personal stories, share insights, passions and tell you how Ladies Who Launch shaped their business or project! Come learn from a Seasoned Panel of Lady Launchers and see what we're all about.

FREE"

It was pretty inconvenient to rearrange my schedule to attend the event for that evening, but I felt I had to...and it was in my price range "FREE".  When I arrived I found the group as fairly friendly.  I was surprised to so many younger women.

Basically the concept, my interpretation, is a group of "highly charged" women get together and brainstorm how to grow another member's idea.  It's a four week program called incubation.   Once you've attended the "incubation", you launch your business.  It's a great concept and can see how this can help not only women, but especially the younger woman who has limited experience in our "real world".

There were about 30 ladies in attendance last night.  That's an impressive turnout!

Pictures from the event:

Not sure where I'm going with the group, but I must admit there are an impressive organization.

Here is the website, please forward the information to someone who has a dream and may need a push in the right direction. http://www.ladieswholaunch.com/

Dorene, if nothing else, Ladies Who Launch is a very creative name!

Brian - I agree.  There was a lady who started a business called Gutsy Partners.  I like the Gutsy part of the name.  I'm thinking of calling my new project "Gutsy Girls".  This would be the teenage girls I plan on mentoring.  I have checked for name availablities or anything, but I like that name!

The organization has helped me launch a number of businesses, and the support has been invaluable.  Even for me, who has been out in the real world as a entrepreneur and high tech priestess, the women in the group add a dynamic to my projects and ideas that could never come from me alone.

There are many Ladies Who Launch events throughout the bay area and most are free for guests, so you should take a couple hours and treat yourself to an event that very well could change the face of your business or take you in a whole new direction in life.

We appreciate you coming to the event, Dorene, and hope you will join us again!  Ladies Who Launch has completely changed my business and given me the drive and support I need to keep pushing myself every day.  It's such a great group of creative women who truly care for and support one another.  It's like having your very own board of top advisers and friends.  I would highly recommend it to any woman who is considering launching or expanding her own business or starting her own project.  You won't find a better networking group anywhere.  Believe me, I've tried!!

Hi Dorene,

Thank you for the post - I wanted to mention that there is no age requirement, we have women in their 20's through their 80's who launch, not only businesses but creative projects. This has been a very successful platform and model for many women. Even women who have been in the business (any business) have been known to hit a plateau, Ladies Who Launch stimulates the creativity and many, many great things come from it.

Think about joining an Incubator Dorene - we'd LOVE to have you!
