Tuesday Travelogue-August 18th
Welcome to the ongoing weekly series called Tuesday Travelogue. We are in our fifty-ninth week! Each week, some ActiveRain bloggers are spotlighted to take us somewhere we may not have been on some kind of virtual travel (and it doesn't cost a dime!). Here is the purpose:
" to enjoy the ride"
"take a trip without even leaving the farm"
"expand your horizons"
"see through someone else's eyes"
and hopefully much more!
This week, we visit South Dakota!!
The first stop is in the Black Hills area, where this local realtor, Duane Hosek does much for supporting adoptions and homes and a special pet project for pets from the local Humane Society. I am ALL over this type of localism support!
I looked at this post and it truly made me hungry (and I just finished my lunch!) Azteca, a Mexican restaurant in Sioux Falls SD, would be one of my "must-stops if I were visiting Rosalie Evans--she has some great foodie fotos--check it out!
Gettin' your hat on in Rapid City, South Dakota! Once again, It's Duane Hosek who comes through on the localism spectrum...(not a lot of AR members who are active in South Dakota it seems...)This was a Chamber of Commerce event. I don't think I've been to one that festive!
Back to dogs and Rosalie Evans! This was an annual Germanfest in Sioux City, SD and it was a dachshund race! What fun! Check out the female "Dachsie" who ran the race right after back surgery (too cute!)
Don't fence me in! Or DO, but make sure you do it according to South Dakota law in Snohomish country, SD! Fencing laws for horse property and hobby farms, Lee Alley gave us the scoop in a wonderfully well-written article.
I finally found a blogger other than Duane and Rosalie who wrote about South Dakota and he wasn't even from there! Cal Yoder visited Mt. Rushmore, SD on a family trip. A long way from his home in Pennsylvania!
Please don't forget to comment on these blogposts and I hope that you enjoyed all of these virtual travels. Feel free to join our group:
