Realtor.com did a post about the different types of features favored in different parts of the country & in different states. I had to laugh as here in Illinois we are a steadfast bunch - give us that basement & BRICK. The more b-r-i-c-k the better & the bigger the basement the more storage for our 'stuff'. They didn't make the brick connection in this article but I can say with certainty that people here want some type of 'fireproof stuff' on the front or surrounding thier homes. It can be brick or various type of stone but whatever is quarried is just as ok as the good old fireproof brick.
Think it's a throwback from the Chicago Fire? I think it's competely true as most homes are at least 50% or more brick in the city of Chicago itself.
