10 Comments on SAN ANTONIO - In the mood for Cajun & Creole Food & Music? You have 2 choices this weekend!
Judi - I wonder if they will have some good SHRIMP JAMBALAYA. I bet you can cook up a big batch and sell it at the Taste of New Orleans. Seems as if we are always talking food.
Carl, yes, it does seem we're always talking about food! LOL A big batch of Shrimp Jambalaya does sound good. You and Ceil should go up to Wimberley on Sat. night with us. We'll probably get there around 4:00 and relax and listen to some good music while we wait for the main event. Wayne Toups!!!
Hey Dale, I'm looking forward to eating some good Cajun food and listing to some good Cajun, Dixie, Zydeco, Jazz and Blues music this weekend. Would be nice if Ceil & Carl could join us for the festivities!
Hey Dale, Well, on Saturday afternoon we drove up to Wimberley, TX for the Crawfish Festival. It was a beautiful day, lots of people, crawfish (I think they ran out of crawfish) and other Cajun foods. The music in the afternoon was good, but we were waiting to see & hear Wayne perform at 8:00. About 8:00 the organizer announced that Wayne's bus had broken down in LaGrange, TX about an hour away and they probably wouldn't be able to make it to the concert. We decided to leave and come back down to San Antonio. :(
Then, yesterday, we were planning to go down to Brackenridge Park to the Taste of New Orleans. The weather was gray, cool and kinda misty so we decided to stay home. :(
But we got a lot of work done around the house over the weekend. :)
I wsa going to write and ask how you enjoyed the festival and I read your response to Dale. How VERY sad. I know how much you would have enjoyed the weekend. More than most people visiting. Well, you know what that means. You will just have to pack it all up and head to Lake Charles for a Cajun food fix. We'll get everything ready for you. Only problem. I will be in Oklahoma last week in July and again for about ten days mid August. New grand daughter and I will be doing my turn of helping the parents adjust to having two to deal with. I would hate to miss your visit after waiting so long. Look forward to seeing you again.
Derenda, thanks for stopping by. We were pretty disappointed when we heard Wayne's bus had broken down and they most likely wouldn't arrive in time to perform. He doesn't get over this way very often and we really enjoy his music.
Congratulations on the new Grand daughter!! I wouldn't trade that visit to help your daughter and son-in-law adjust to having 2 babies for anything in the world! If you're not in town the next time we're there, we'll be there later in the year. We're hoping to get there sometime around Thanksgiving or Christmas. Haven't decided on any of the dates yet. But you & MK will be among the first to know! :)

Nice blog Judi.
