Eagles Nest, Homer Alaska
Eagles are wonderful creatures to watch…they mate for life and each year return to the same nest if possible to have their baby or babies. These particular Eagles come back to this spot year after year and I have had the pleasure of watching many of their babies.
It really is amazing to watch them each year.
The baby Eagles are usually born in June, in Homer Alaska.
The look like big balls of fuzz till the fuzz slowly turn to feathers.
The Eagles take turns watching the baby and rarely do you see them in the nest together.. One is usually off on the trees watching… or off for food…. Or chasing off the ravens and little birds that may harass the baby.
Here they are one big happy family…. Baby is still small and vulnerable and they will make sure no one harms it. They will care for and feed the baby until they can teach it to fly and feed itself. They are fierce providers!
Eagles in Homer Alaska are a sight to Behold!
