By the way...I do not know where the majority of my business comes from..
But it comes from Referrals, direct mail, newpaper ads in local paper and my direct email campaign.
Do You Know Where Your Business Comes From?
This sounds easy enough to know but I hear agents that work open houses that never ask why the prospect stopped to see the house and how the prospect knew it was open.
An agent gets a call from someone they don't know that wants to see one of their listings and the agent never asks how they found the agent's name and number.
You get a referral from another agent in another area and you fail to find out why they called you to handle the business instead of someone else.
A seller emails you to come list his home. Do you ask how they found out about you and heard about you?
Someone calls you and wants to buy a home. Don't you want to know why the person called you?
A text comes in asking a real estate question. You don't recognize the number. Do you attempt to find out the source and why you were the one they chose to ding?
How can you know who to thank, what marketing piece to continue, what triggered the call if you don't ask? How can you budget correctly for future business and know where to spend your time and money if you don't ask each and every time?
It is a simple as asking the question and you may be surprised at the answers. It could be money in the bank knowing the whys.
