Land for Sale in Gilbert, Arizona - Half Acre to 1 Acre lots

By

Before the economic recession purchasing a parcel of land to build your personal dream home was within reach for many people. Once the real estate market began it's free fall, land lost severe value along with everything else. Some land owners got stuck holding on to lots that were worth only half of what they originally paid. Others were able to cut bait, take the financial hit, and unload their sinking asset.

Those who hung on to their land in hopes of the market recovering are now finally seeing their lot values rise. Gilbert, Arizona has seen steady increases in land and property values since 2012. Land owners are now beginning to realize they may be able to list their lot for sale after all these years of waiting. This is good news for those that have been wanting to escape the confines of traditional new build homes and branch out to have their own custom home made to their exact specifications.

Available lots for sale in Gilbert, Arizona have been sparse but we are now seeing an increase in the amount of infill and raw land lots coming on to the market. If you are completely unfamiliar with the land purchase process and don't know where to even begin, you can refer to a previous article I wrote "How do I buy land for sale in Arizona to build my dream home". In that blog post I explain everything you need to know about purchasing land in Arizona.

Nicole - I cut through Gilbert at least once a week, it's amazing how many formerly-empty lots now have activity on them...!  If someone is considering building new in Gilbert, they shouldn't wait to scoop up a lot, before they are gone!

Nicole a half to one acre lot is a really nice size to build a house on, and most people dream of being able to build a new home.  Those who desire to build should do so before the prices sky rocket again.

I imagine that investors had their hands full with great deals when the market went in the tank that the cost of building a new home was ridiculous compared to what they could pick up for so cheap Nicole Doty - Gilbert Real Estate Expert

Bob - Many investors had to sit on their land purchases for the past 8 years or so. Land values are finally at a point that many of them can now get out.

Endre - I hope to get many land listings in the future! I used to do a lot of it but since the recession land values hadn't quite recovered until recently.

Conrad - It's that way in some areas here as well but Gilbert has mostly recovered.

It sounds like there will continue to be more new construction business, especially in the single lot area. All the best with the sale of the lots available.
