Foam Injection to Raise Concrete Pads and Floors

Slab settlement can affect new and old structures alike. Whether you are dealing with a sinking slab in your basement, garage, driveway, walkway, or patio, a cracked sunken slab creates an uneven surface that can pose a safety hazard.
A common solution to repairing sunken concrete is to demolish and replace the entire slab or sections that have settled with new concrete. This method can be costly, invasive, and time consuming. 
Another solution is to raise the slab by pumping a mortar-based mixture underneath the settling slab in a process known as mudjacking. The problem with traditional mudjacking is that the weight of the “slurry” mixture that is pumped under the slab, combined with the weight of the concrete itself, can actually cause the slab to sink further if the soil beneath isn’t able to support the load.
Foam injection is a cost-effective, expedient and less disruptive alternative. It combines the already-proven technique of concrete lifting with a specially-engineered expanding foam that makes it possible to permanently restore the concrete surface with little downtime and disruption. It is both lightweight and durable, and it is able to support and lift sunken concrete back to its original level without any added weight.
Contractors can adjust the chemical reaction that causes the foam to expand and control how much the concrete is lifted. The expanding polymer reaches its final strength and is ready to support weight within minutes. Additionally, the material does not react with soil and does not release harmful chemicals. It is an affordable, permanent solution to an age old problem.
