Newsweek ranks 5 Clark County schools among nation’s best
Five Clark County schools were named among the nation’s best in a recent Newsweek study. In a ranking of 500 schools, the College of Southern Nevada High School West placed No. 133, Advanced Technologies Academy (ATech) placed No. 179, CSN High School East placed No. 300 and West Career and Technical Academy placed No. 494. It's Time Las Vegas... Back to School
August 24th, 2015 Las Vegas and Henderson students will be returning to schools around the Greater Las Vegas area within the Clark County School District (CCSD). Registration began April 15th, 2015 and it's not too late to get your student enrolled for the 2015-2016 school year. We have listed some great resources below that will help you best prepare you, and your child, as the 24th is right around the corner.

LAS VEGAS & HENDERSON SCHOOL ZONING
Before you send you child down the street to the nearest school, be sure you are actually in the correct zone for that particular school. The Bush Team understands how important it is to know your school zone when making your Las Vegas or Henderson move, so they have added a few links for your convenience. You can search the area by using the Clark County School District's Zone Information check by imputing your address on their site. LAS VEGAS STUDENT AGE REQUIREMENTS AND GRADE LEVELS
If you are considering a move to Las Vegas or Henderson, or are new to the area, or have recently relocated to the greater Las Vegas Valley it's important to know the age and registration requirements for your school aged children.
- Elementary School in Las Vegas and Henderson is for children ages 5 to 5th grade.
- Middle School/ Junior High is for students grades 6-8 (different form other parts of the country where middle school is for 7-8th grades only.)
- High School is for your students in grades 9-12.
Children must be age 5 by September 30th to enroll in Kindergarten. Students must be 6 years old and completed Kindergarten to enroll in 1st grade. To be allowed in the 2nd grade at a Clark County School, students must be at least 7 years old with proof of completing Kinder and 1st grades.
IMMUNIZATIONS REQUIRED FOR YOUR CHILD TO ATTEND SCHOOL
For sometime now, there has been quite a debate about the need and requirement to immunize your child before enrolling them in school. The state of Nevada has its own requirement and exceptions for students with religious beliefs and/ or medical conditions. LAS VEGAS & HENDERSON SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION
The Clark County School District provides transportation for general education students to attend their zoned school, if they live 2 or more miles from campus. Additionally, exceptions can be made for special education students. It's important to know if you are in a 2 mile range when you are purchasing your Las Vegas or Henderson Home. SCHOOL BREAKFAST AND LUNCH PROGRAMS- Lunch Lady Land
If you grew up in the era of Saturday Night Live, you may be familiar with the 1994 Adam Sandler and Chris Farley skit about the Lunch Lady and Sloppy Joes (Watch below for a great laugh). SAY NO TO BULLYING and be sure your child knows he/ she needs to speak up and talk to teachers, administrators and adults in leadership when they see bulling taking place. Since school is just around the corner, it's important to know about upcoming vacations, teacher work days and of course, what every child wants to know, when the last day of school is.
