New Video Features On Facebook

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with The Silent Partner Marketing

Facebook has rolled out some new video marketing features - but did anyone tell you about them?I've been harping on why you all need to start producing video for quite some time.

And I've been really bullish on why you need to upload that video directly to Facebook.

So I'd be a little remiss if I didn't keep you up to date on some new features for posting videos on business pages.

If you are familiar with the YouTube format for posting videos then you’ll have no trouble with this one.

The new features includes the ability to choose the following options:

  • Exclude videos from the News Feed and Timeline, and publish the videos only to the Page’s Videos tab
  • Prohibit the embedding of videos on third-party websites
  • Set a video as “secret,” which will make them accessible only via a direct URL
  • Categorize a video as entertainment, news and so forth
  • Add a custom thumbnail for each video
  • Set an expiration date for a video, while still saving its Insights data after the video is removed
  • Restrict a video’s audience by age and gender

If you’re not familiar with posting videos on Facebook at all then you should probably know some of the helpful features that you had available to you for the past year. When you post a video on a page, such as your business page, you can see information like video views, unique video views, the average duration of the video view and audience retention. These metrics help you learn what’s resonating with your viewers and determine how you can create and promote your videos more effectively.

Time to pick YOUR brains - how are YOU using video to grow your business and where are you seeing success?  Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Good morning Kyle,

A call to action I have been remiss in getting started. It is time to incorporate this in my daily work plan.

Thanks for the kick in the arse!

Make yourself a great day.

I'm not using it yet. Stop yelling at me. I did have a sit down meeting with a guy who does video marketing to discuss a game plan. That was a few months ago.

Thanks for the updates.  It's good to know that many of those exist.  Last week I did 9 video intros to my posts.  I intend to some on dark posts (already tested 2) as well as intros in general and use across social media.

The little snafu I hit is that I can't figure out how to get my phone # on there (or logo) in vimeo.  So that is this week's task.  It appears you can't do that in vimeo.  Can you do that on FB?  I tried doing some editting but then it wouldn't upload it to vimeo.  Very annoying.

Great questions, Debbie Gartner.

In early 2015, FB launched a "Call Now" button on "local awareness" ads.  It takes an entire stage right out of the sales funnel.

As far as the video goes, what are you using for editing?

Videos and FB marketing...now that's a combination more in this industry should be taking advantage of, especially when they can be done together. Excellent share Kyle!
