Looking Under The Hood or Under The Roof

Has anyone ever purchased a used car? You may know looks can be deceiving. To get a true picture of the quality of the product, you have to “look under the hood.”

What does this have to do with shopping for a new house?

When you find a property you like on the market, it’s easy to get all warm & fuzzy with its curb appeal and features. However, there may be issues you won’t notice, such as foundation cracks that need repair or the A/C that’s due for replacement.

That’s why you need to “look under the hood/roof” by having a qualified home inspector review the property.

Just because the car looks new and shiny doesn't mean it runs well. The same goes for houses! Check under the hood to get the full story!

Home inspection is a critical part of the home buying process.  A C.L.U.E. report can be useful, too.

Winston, absolutely...a home inspection is a must and Jill Murty, Realtor - Serving Orange County, CA also pointed out a telling report that many agents either don't know about or do not use...the C.L.U.E.  report can be very important to the buyers.

Good Wednesday morning Winston. I do have to agree with you that inspection is a very integral part of property purchases. It grounds buyers in the reality of what they are purchasing.

Winston, So true. Most homes of any age will have a little laundry list items.
