It's evermore important these days to not only be watchful for your own safety, but for those in your neighborhood as well.  Let's face it, who knows better who a stranger in your area is than you!? Most all of us know our immediate neighbors at least by sight if not socially.  You know what cars they drive and what kind of dog they have.  Know what hours they work and when they are usually home.

So many homes are broken into during the day as well as cars.  It pays to take notice of things that seem out of the ordinary.  If a car looks suspicious, jot down the license plate number, keep it handy.  Have the non-emergency phone number for your local police station in your cell phone.  Report anyone suspicous looking strangers you see.   It is a proven fact that neighborhood crime prevention programs reduce crime.  If you want to reducde the odds of being a victim in your own neighborhood, persuade your neighbors to join you in a Neighborhood Watch program. Stopping crime is everyone's business.  If you do your part you'll be helping yourself and everyone in your community.
