LABOR DAY, LIVING MONSTERS
It's almost like seeing real dinosaurs roam the earth. Since 1940 the sleepy little town of Rollag in Western Central MN has hosted a Labor Day event focused around steam powered equipment. It's called the "Western Minnesota Steam Thrashers".
I have many great pics of this event on my home computer and hope to add some this evening but I wanted to get word out now as it starts tomorrow and runs through Monday but in the meantime click on the link and see what the promoters of this event have to show you.
This event is HUGE and features hundreds of tractors, some larger in size than anything manufactured today. Several steam engine locomotives that give you free rides around the grounds, steam shoves, stationery engines, a mill, and even the most beautiful steam power merry-go-round you have ever seen. Part of that beautiful merry-go-round is a steam powered calliope that is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
As a 3 day event you can even camp on site and believe me it takes 3 days to see all there is at this fabulous event.
