It's that time again! Time for the Yiasou Greek Festival in Charlotte, NC!

When: September 10-13, 2015 (Sept 10: 11am-9pm; Sept 11&12: 11am-10pm; Sept 13: noon-8pm)

This year marks the 38th Annual Yiasou Greek Festival which will be held September 10-13 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Charlotte, NC. Yiasou is the greek word for "hello", "goodbye", and "cheers". Once a year the community gets together to share their heritage with the public through food, exhibits, lectures, entertainment, shopping, and fun. 

Every hour on the hour, except for Saturday at 3pm, you can attend a cathedral tour and learn about the beautiful iconography and Byzantine archetecture. Live entertainment will take place on two outdoor stages where you can watch dance performances and live music. This year the Warriors of Greece, a Living History reenactment group, will be performing in the downstairs lecture hall of the Cultural Center next to the Warriors of Greece display room. Kids can play in the Children's Play Land, located inside the grounds. Here they can enjoy fair-like rides, face painting, wax hand casting, caricatures, and games. Rides include the Swing Ride, Tubs of Fun Ride, Tijuana Twister Ride, Helicopter Ride, Ferris Wheel, Atlantis, Jurassic Adventure and The Slide. 

Stroll around the grounds and enjoy shopping in the open-air market or in the greek grocery store. Here you will find everything from clothes and jewelry to cookbooks, olives, dolmathes, and cheese.
