Nashville Homes near Natural Beauty part 2
Last month, I told you about the beauty of Radnor Lake, located near the neighborhoods of Oak Hill and Crieve Hall in South Nashville. http://bit.ly/1Mim2Gx Another incredible and thriving part of town has its own gem of natural beauty in Shelby Bottoms Greenway and Nature Park.
Shelby Bottoms
As the urban living trend began to take hold of Nashville, leading to the development of The Gulch, downtown condos and lofts, as well as the revitalization of the trendy East Nashville area, the city recognized a need for preserved greenspace. In the mid-nineties, the planning of Shelby Bottoms Greenway and Nature Park began. Now boasting 960 acres in East Nashville (and within a very short drive of downtown) Shelby Bottoms offers urban residents miles of riverfront trails, as well as paved and primitive trails.
This gorgeous oasis offers wildflowers, birds, and amphibians as well as other wildlife to enjoy and marvel at. With free admission and open year-round from dawn to dusk, it is a peaceful and tranquil place in the middle of a bustling and thriving community. The Nature Center offers a variety of programs and services, most of which are free, to residents of all ages. From yoga classes to birding adventures, bike rides to themed walks, scout badge opportunities to bird feeder building, the Nature Center is sure to meet your outdoor and curiosity needs.
