We received a verbal offer on a house we had listed and, after some verbal negotiation, were able to reach a meeting of the minds. Hooray!
"You'll have the contract by 6:00 tonight," the agent told us.
So we told our clients. At 9:00, Wayne called the agent to see what was going on. "By morning," he told us.
In the morning, nothing arrived. By the afternoon, our clients were getting itchy. "Did they change their minds?" they panicked.
Finally, the next day, the contract arrived in our email.
But, upon further inspection, there were quite a few errors. For example, the agent wrote his company's name instead of his own in the place where his signature was required. In another place, he had miscalculated the mortgage amount and deposits leaving a different offer price than we had negotiated.
Wayne texted the agent, asking him to clear up the problems.
Thirty six hours passed before we received the corrected contract. At this point, we were getting frustrated and asked the agent what was going on. "My full time job is really busy this week. I only do real estate on the side."
Jean is a part time agent and fully understands the frustrations of working part time. Some days, there really aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done that you want to get done. But our clients are always served appropriately.
"I just need the buyer's attorney info," Wayne told the other agent once the contract was fully executed. "I'll have it for you by tonight," the agent told him.
Twenty four hours later, after several texts and email requests, Wayne finally sent this email:
