"How Much Do You Value the Real Estate on the Back of Your Business Card?"
Someone asked about what to put on the back of a business card tonight, and my first thought was of my friend Joe Petrowsky and his good use of this real estate.
"How Much Do You Value the Real Estate on the Back of Your Business Card?"
The other day I was visiting our Latham New York office. On the way back to my Manchester, Connecticut office I stopped at a rest stop and watched these two men that exchanged business cards and each went in separate directs, one leaving the other to the men's room. The man that was leaving threw away the business card on his way out. The problem was the other man saw him do it and I could hear him using some choice words for the other man.
He knew I observed what took place. I couldn't help it, I asked him why he thought the man threw away his card? He immediately responded, the A$$>>>> probably didn't like my price. Turns out he is a landscaper and the other guy was a house flipper.
I gave him a business card and asked him if he would read the back of my card, which I ask everyone to do when I give them a card. I see him nodding his head and immediately wondered what is the message that we want to project? He thanked me and off he went, but I could hear his wheels turning and talking under his breath.
So, are you using the real estate on the back of your business and do you ask the person you give it to, to read it?
