tired faceYesterday was one of "those" days... It started at 6:30 a.m. and did not end until 10 p.m. In total, I completed three loan signings, one non-loan notarization and spent 3 1/2 hours at the Tai Pei Consulate. Let's just say I'm pooped!

I traveled from Long Beach to San Pedro back to Long Beach to Los Angeles to Carson back to Long Beach to Cerritos back to Long Beach and then home. At the end of the day my odometer reading had increased by 118 miles!

I started the day knowing it was going to be busy but I just had not imagined my trip to Los Angeles would take so long. I have taken documents to be apostilled by the State of CA but I have never had to make a trip to a consulate office before so I was green to the process and the wait!

Even though I'm incredibly tired I would do it all over again. You can't beat the variety of this business.

You know it is all good when you can say I am willing to do it again.  One of my neighbors came over today and ask how do I find all of these little speciality services to enhance my business.  My response was that I love what I do.  It like planting a beautiful flower and watching it grow into a field of beautiful flowers.  You certainly can't beat the variety of this business, go kick your shoes off and have a glass of wine.....

Pamela, like you said it makes it all worth it when you love what you do. If I hated business I couldn't have made it through yesterday.

I love the type of days you described. I am finding that focusing on general notary work has presented wonderful experiences and personal fullfillment. I also love this job.

Jacqueline, I tend to like general notary work more. Unlike loan signings, most times you're in and out and paid immediately. I've even had a few repeat clients.

Hey LaShon, I once completed 12 loan signings in six counties in a single day.  I left home at 4:30AM and arrived home at 2:30AM the next day.  I wish I could do that once a week...I'd be rich, but probably dead.  I too love what I do and would love to have some more days half that good...

I have been so busy I have not been at this website for a least a month.  I have missed you all!

I agree with you LaShon some days we need to clone ourselves.  I traveled from Albuquerque to Estancia county back to Albuquerque and then to Santa Fe.  I started at 3:00 and did not finish until 10 PM.  I think I put at least 240 miles on my car.  Thank God I own a Hybrid.  I was getting 44.5 miles a gallon on the road.  Good for the bottom line.

Happy Signings to All!

I was signing a loan one night at 12:30 am in Dana Point and could barely keep my eyes open and had to review the documents 4 times to ensure I had all the signatures.

12 is the largest number of signings I've ever done in one day.  I was late for each appointment, but everyone was happy as I kept them informed with a two-hour notice.

I was so tired I drove the coast highway back to Long Beach because, I was scared to get on the freeway.

I'll never try that trick again.  I'm often surprised at the schedule I used to maintain when I take a minute to reflect.

I've never been to a consulate's office.  I'm not sure I'll be happy about a long wait for any reason.

The most signings for me in one day is six. I would love to have the opportunity to do 12!

Shannon, you and Ntsike have me beat with 12 signings in one day! After a day like that I would have needed a week to recover.

Margaret, congratulations on being busy. With the real estate market the way it is keeping busy is not always an easy thing to do.

Diego, I don't think I would handle 12 signings in a day but I'd be satisfied with 12 in a week.

I needed to revist this post. Yesterday, I completed 5 signings and today I am completely exhausted. I give props to anyone who can complete 12 in a single day. Please share your energy with me.
