The Bush Administration appointed a new Secretary of HUD today. The new Secretary Steve Preston was previously in charge of the Small Business Administration a/k/a the SBA and before that the Servicemaster Company which is the franchiser for American Home Shield and various contractor companies.

It is not surprising that once again the person in charge of America's Department of Housing and Urban Development has little to no background in either real estate or mortgages.  How else would this giant bureaucracy operate?

I don't want to curse the new guy.  Hopefully he can get something worthwhile done during the next few months.  Most likely he will be booted out of office when the new President gets sworn in next January.
