Isn't It Ironic?

Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage

A Realtor's tale.....

Since I started in real estate 4 years ago my broker always told me to get listings, get listings, get listings....me, I always liked buyers myself. The process (in most cases) goes so much faster. Get them approvoed, put them in the car, show them some houses, write an offer, get a contract , inspections, CLOSE! I have been so blessed to have always had the buyers from referrals, friends etc. I know the normal thing would be to have listings, get sign calls, pick up leads, convert. That was never my method before I just always found the buyers. I still have some unfortunately, most cannot get loans even ones with decent credit are having problems obtaining loans with all the new lending guidelines -that seem to change on a daily basis. Frustrating it is. So now...ironically..I am a listing agent (mainly because resales do not seem to be moving anywhere right now)...and the sign calls? It seems like every one already has a Realtor.  At least my broker is happy....

This blog was written in jest...I know that we will Survive the current market and all of us left standing wiill be better Realtor's for having made it through!

I am still blessed with many wonderful clients who understand the trials and tribulations of the times and still believe in me.

Traci- I enjoy certain aspects of working with both buyers and sellers. But I prefer listings since I enjoy the marketing aspect more than anything =)

It seems like most agents do prefer listings. I just love looking at different homes, areas and price ranges, needs and wants with my clients it is exciting for me to see them getting excited abouit a new home purchase.

I have had some really great buyers and would not have given them up for anything.  But I like the listings more.  You are right those that survive will be stronger on the other side.  :-)

My preference is to work with buyers, however I find that it is best to list as well.

I actually prefer buyers too....as compared to the drama of sellers...but your broker is right....listings......are the way to go....I just wish I enjoyed them
