Acceptable Double Standard

By
Real Estate Agent with Summit Real Estate Group BRE# 01215778

We live in a society in which Political Correct is the new standard.  Raised in the 60's in Detroit, this was quite the opposite.  People speaking their mind and free exchange of ideas was the norm.  I miss those days.

Anyway, my observation today is the Acceptable Double Standard.  I'm a Realtor and it is a normal and acceptable request for a customer to request a female agent.  This is totally understood and accepted in our industry.

Can you imagine the response and prejudice if a man called in and said I don't want to work with a Women, I wan a Man to work with.

Wouldn't you say this is a truly accpetable double standard?

What is your opinion?

I've never heard that people want to work more with female agents than male agents.  It's a shame that gender is even a thought - I just want my clients to work with the best agents, male or female.

Hi Tony Lewis ,  You have a point, however that doesn't seem to be an issue here.  The only thing that ha increased is the request for bilingual agents.
