The Canadian Facts for Maui Hawaii

- Visitors from Canada to Hawaii were up 31.5 per cent in February from the same month in 2007, with January and February of this year marking the first time since the early 1980s that Canadian visitor days surpassed Japanese visitor days.

- The February increase in Canadian visitors marked the seventh-consecutive month of increases, and year-to-date Canadian arrivals have climbed 29.6 per cent to 89,116 visitors.

- Canadian visitors to Maui were up 37.5 per cent in February of this year from February, 2007.

- Single-family home sales in Maui County from Jan. 1 to March 31 totalled 228, down from 341 during the same period a year ago.

- Median single-home price for the period January through March was $602,783, down from $625,000 in the same period last year.

- Dollar volume for single-family sales in Maui County during the first quarter of this year was down 41 per cent over the same period a year ago.

- Median condominium price in Maui County in the first quarter of this year was $587,000, up from $552,500 for the same period in 2007.

- Number of days on the market for a condo in Maui County in March 2005: 104; for March 2008: 176.

- Number of days on the market for a single-family home in March 2005: 123; in March, 2008: 162 days.
