The US is correcting...I hope.

Financing if you don't have cash is gone. That in itself is pushing prices down. Credit scores matter!...Do you even know your credit score? In an article that I recently read, they suggest that prices will fall below 2001 prices...some regions 25 - 35%...Woow! Lord have mercy...What to do???

The situation is sad....Consumer spending has fallen....Christmas next year will be sad.

How will we survive??? Will you survive? Did you save for the mess?

What will you do?

Short and sweet...hope you are safe, hope you saved up for the mess.

We always bounce back. It will get better. I think we are closer to the end of the crisis than the beginning.

I see this as a time to invest and prepare for the good times when they come back. Every decade this happens and the prices will rise again and if you prepare like others before you, you can become very wealthy!

Karen, Usually in an election year they try to make us believe our economy is great. Not this time though. Just pray a Dem isn't voted into the White House or we are in for a bumpier ride than we've seen in a good while.

You know it...I'm so Republican...I mean. they are fighting amongst themselves...Clinton is a full blown lier and Obama...thinks too much out loud...Foot in mouth syndrome...

Karen, I watch Glenn Beck every eve, I like him. He seems straightforward and very intelligent. My goodness though when you hear the truth about what we are facing with no" padding the truth" from the politicians. It scares the h*ll out of me. Gas 5 bucks a gallon by summer? Rationing rice at Costco? He says make sure you have supplies in reserve for your family, buy now. Even now, who can afford much extra than what you actually need??? I can't imagine what my 3 year old grandson will see and have to face in his lifetime. I don't even like to think about it. 50 years from now ? WOW, I'll be gone but the children will suffer. Its horrible.

Karen - it'll be tough. at least you won't have to worry about heating fuel down in Florida. this is something that is going to be a hughe problem next winter.

I actually went and bought tuna, canned tomatoes, TP, paper towels, water, etc...we used to have tax relief prior to hurricane season in Fl...not this year. I have plenty of water...and bought canned good's in bulk...It's totally scary...

You are right. Heating fuel up north will be horrific...

My concern is that this situation is going to leave many people bankrupt.
