National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

September 26, 2015 is Golden’s National Prescription Take-Back Day. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has joined forces with other agencies nationwide to help remove potentially dangerous substances from our medicine cabinets.

The program is completely anonymous so you don’t have to fill anything out to drop off any medications. You can drop off prescription and over-the-counter medications. They accept both tablets and capsules.

They ask that you take the medicines and place them into a plastic bag prior to drop off. Please do not show up with all the prescription bottles full of tablets.

According the Drug Enforcemtn Administration site there will be two colleiton sites this Saturday:

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office – 200 Jefferson County Pkwy, Golden, CO 80401

Golden Police Department – 911 10th St, Golden, CO 80401

So gather up your unused, expired, or unwanted medications and allow them to dispose of them correctly.

Great Idea and maybe they will be disposed of properly. Certainly has to be better then flushing down the toilet.
