Beach BagI haven't quite always figured out my purpose or purposes in life at times, but I know one mission I have is to stamp out self-doubt. Nothing is more detrimental to your place in the world.

I see it with buyers remorse in real estate. I see it in fledgling careers of entrepreneurial types such as Realtors and Stagers. Should they really be doing this?

NOTHING, and I mean nothing is more important in life as a gift to the world than you remaining genuine and authentic to who you are. You are beautiful just as you are. Listen to your inner voice and PLEASE be YOU.

There never has been someone like you. There never will be one like you after you are long gone. Cast aside your doubts about who you are. Embrace your strengths, weaknesses, and emotions.  Always show the world the BEAUTY that is you and give us for all to see your

Beautifully worded as always, Gary.  I will remember this one the next time I question my own validity.

Great blog,  Thanks for reminding us to be true to ourselves and "be me"

Cool. Very cool. I guess because I'm one of these jaded, sardonic New Yawkers who loves to wear black I kind of miss out on the color brigade. But your words and images brought it home tonight, Gary. Cool.

Connie: Just be true to yourself and you will be valid!

Leeshay: No self-doubt allowed.

Sally: I like the song too. Have a good weekend in paradise where you see plenty of rainbows.

Russ: Trusting yourself is key.

Andrew: New Yawkers are some of the most "colorful" people I know : )

I learned long ago it's too confuing to be anyone else. I have a hard enough time knowing myself...I do love acting in the theater though...a brief time to be someone else.

Gary - That was the best picture video that I have ever seen.  The words of Phil's song were timed perfectly to the astounding visuals.  (Wow - that sentence came out beautifully, didn't it?)  But the result of watching it is that I am now going to call my grandkids and tell them that I love them.

Your true colors shine through every time you 'put pen to paper'.

More inspiration from you Gary.  Thanks so much.  This has been a very slow month and its easy to get down and question one's presence.  Today I found myself even wishing that I could be somebody that I am not, but I'll have to blog about that.  GREAT SONG, GREAT ARTIST!

Joan: I enjoyed your comment that it is too confusing to be anyone else. It does take work doesn't it? Acting is a great way to live in the make believe world. A true outlet for you.

Virginia: That's good in saying I love you to the grandkids. Wow you look too young for being a grandma. Some of us age gracefully. Must be all those smiles you give out. : )

Ginger: Don't get down. Remember your greatness. Life has its ebbs and flows. NEVER, NEVER wish to be someone else. You have to know that you are beautiful just as you are. I always tell people to say to themselves I AM OK, and believe it, just as you are. I look forward to that blog on your reflection.

Virginia: You mean Photoshop and you are friends? : ) I know, Photoshop is the name of your dog. You are always so funny. A secret to longevity and youthful looks perhaps? Methinks so.

Cathy: I like the image of the rainbow too and especially the crayons. We are so much like the Crayolas, all so individual.

Gary you are so right about self doubt.  If you doubt yourself you have already failed.  I mean, why bother trying?  I may have false confidence but I suppose that would be better than true self doubt.

Gary, I love your picture, the song went perfectly with your post.  It IS too difficult trying to be someone or something you're not and better to stick with yourself.  Great way to start the day.

Nannette: Believing in ourselves is a key to others having confidence in us.

Carole: And when you think about being someone else, what is so wrong about yourself? Nothing.

Gary, If there is something that I've been true about... it's ME! I just don't know the other way and even if sometimes I see people judging me, I am still ME. I have sometimes hard times to "fit the norm" but what the heck!  It's harder for me to "play" the role than TO JUST be ME.

Rosario: The song is highly inspirational to me. I have ALWAYS been so strongly ME in the world it encourages me to remind others to never lose their true self. It downright gets me mad when I see others veer away from who they are. Why do they do this? I think it is a self-esteem thing. They don't think they are good enough as themself. I say hogwash. They are GREAT as they are. Someone just has to remind and encourage them and allow them to see their own beauty. I work hard to do that.

Arina: Don't worry about others judging you. So what? It's just their opinion. Listen MOST strongly to YOUR inner voice. Don't fit the norm. The exceptional people never do, It does take work to "play" someone else. Arina, ALWAYS BE YOU. That's who the world needs the MOST!

Wow!! This came up for me at just the right time. Too often I am doing the "woulda, coulda and shoulda" words in my vocabulary. I do seem to have too much self doubt going on. Thanks for reminding me to be "true to myself".

Becky: As others point out there is no reason to be anyone other than yourself. You are just fine as you are. Remind yourself of that ALL THE TIME!! : )

To quote the most widely read book in the history of man (the Bible), "We are fearfully and wonderfully made"...  and we should celebrate the fact that God don't make no junk!  Thanks for another insightful post Gary!
