I just couldn't sit another minute in my office today because the beautiful sunshine and long over due spring weather called to me. I went out to a subdivision on Lake Huron to place a lock box on a new listing and on the way back I could not resist taking pictures of the lake.

I stopped a few more times to saver the day. And when on the highway crossing over the Cheboygan River in town I looked to the north and to my delight I saw our Coast Guard Cutter "Mackinaw" heading into the river from the lake.

The ship has been out for some time breaking the ice up at the "Soo Locks" in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan and in Lake Superior's Whitefish Bay. We love it when our ship is in port in the Cheboygan River it is a beautiful site. Now heading up river you are coming into the city of Cheboygan then you reach a lock which raises you several feet

Great pics, I am on the lake as well.  I have not had the oportunity to head up there since the ice has melted.  I am going to have to do it this week

Beautiful photos. I'm spoiled . . . living in FL so the weather is almost always sunny. But I clearly remember my 15 years in WA state. As absolutely gorgeous as it was, there was a huge rush when we got a sunny spring day and there was no way to keep me inside

The weather was fantastic here in PA today.  It hit just over 80 in my area.  I had the entire afternoon to finally do some much needed "stuff" around the house.

Bob & Carolin, Your area is great as well, I have friends that winter in your area and they love it. We don't see enough of the sun in the winter, so today I was like a little kid again.

Looks so neat!  I really miss being near water!  I like the ocean but the Great Lakes can do fine!

Hello Jacquie I went to school in the Detroit metro area and MSU (one semester - that is another blog) and I don't miss the winters in MI at all.  I know the 15 foot or more snow drifts.  Funny I don't remember spring much up there.  Oh, that is because it does not last long,  Heck in two months it will be summer!  Our spring here actaually has been here for a few weeks.  But I love to read about other areas of the country because I learn there is more than what I see in my little world.  Keeps things in prespective doesn't it?

Mary, Thanks. I haven't been to Las Vegas, no doubt a very different world from here. We are small town, resort community. Busy in the summer, and we slow down in the winter months.

Deborah, Thanks for commenting, yes, we are finally in the high 50's and 60's here. You sure live in a beautiful area, I haven't made it to Seattle yet only to Mt. St. Helens. My sister-in-law has a sister that lives in Seattle so I see pictures.

Richard, Thanks for the good word.

Jim, I like the ocean (the gulf at Fort Myers Beach), but in the summer the northern Great Lakes is fantastic.

Nannette, I grew up in the Detroit area as well, the downriver area actually and I don't miss down there at all. My husbands brother and wife moved to Maryland and their son lives in Virginia so I hope to visit them soon. I haven't been to that area, but from pictures I see it sure looks beautiful.

Jacqueline, Awesome photos especially for us in the Mid-West who had a ton of snow this past winter. Thanks for sharing and good luck with your new listing.

Geno, Hey, you did ask me for it.

Joan, Thank you. I finally purchased a new camera a few months ago so now it is fun. When you live in an area where beauty is everywhere it is easy, however, I was just feeling like playing hookie that day.

Burt, Thanks. Yes isn't it great to see all the snow gone. It has been so warm and beautiful the last week or so. Cold front coming in tonight, but at least now we know it won't last long.
