Komen Race for the Cure - Denver - September 27, 2015

Race for the Cure - Denver

We all know someone that has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and most are survivors!      There are men and women that have been diagnosed with this horrible disease and filled a family full of sadness.     The research continues and they need donations!   By doing so, you could save a life!

Race for the Cure - Denver  will celebrate the race on September 27th, 2015 at the Pepsi Center

Last year's race participants

There are lots of ways to get involved. Become a participant, a team captain, a volunteer, or simply sleep in on Sunday, and make a $25 donation. Everyone who wants to get involved can find something to do.   Denver is one of the largest races in the Country and surely will see many participate in this year's Race for the Cure.

As of today --- the 2015 Goal is $750,000 and are at $576,584 as of 9/25/15!

Seventy-five percent of the Affiliate’s net proceeds stay in Colorado for breast cancer screening, diagnostics, treatment and education. Komen Colorado has invested more than $33 million in local nonprofits that provide breast health and breast cancer services to the medically under served since 1992.The remaining 25% supports the national Komen Grants Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research, meritorious awards and educational and scientific programs around the world. Since the Affiliate’s inception, almost $14 million has been raised for breast cancer research.

Hopefully the weather will be good and the turnout amazing. My mother just survived it last year and I have seen first hand what it can do to the body and mind.

Have a great weekend!

There was something going on about the race last year that I don't recall, and maybe that's why George isn't seeing it. I'm not much of a runner but I can mange to sign a check.
