I'd like to share with you today a little about my journey of "finding inspiration" from others here at ActiveRain. So many times as I'm reading a post that I know many of you don't read I find inspiration. I recently read someone say they had zero desire to read a listing post or a market report post or a local even that is an area in another state. For me, I love reading being inspired by those.
Just last night I clicked on Sybil Campbell 's post about men liking the garage and women liking the kitchens and baths. I was double inspired, because I thought, I am going to make my Ask an Ambassador post about how we can all find inspiration by reading posts others write that we can take the idea and make it our own. AND, I was inspired to take that idea and make it my own. It's actually pretty rare for a home to even have a garage in my market. We live the south, it doesn't freeze, it's a second home market and garages just are not high priority, so what do men like in my market about the house, the boathouse. Yes, no place to park the car, but they want a place to park the boat. And do women buy the house because of the kitchen in my market? No hardly, they don't cook in the kitchen on the weekends, they eat out, have a sandwich or grill. So what is the wow factor for women buying a weekend house on the lake? Most of the time it's the view and nice lake side porch to see that view from and lots of places in the house for beds so the whole family will come to the lake.
I haven't written that post yet, but you can bet next week it's one you'll see. And it will have a link to "both of you will love this house" on my IDX search. So Thanks Sybil for the inspiration. I was inspired once by Liz and Bill Spear writing about doors and Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents certainly changed my approach to listings years ago. She made me know I needed to use my southern story telling style to tell you about a home and why you'd love it.
Now I'd like you help me out. Go find a post that inspires you to write something. You might be surprised what reading about a listing in another state can get you write if you let your creative juice flow. So come back and tell the rest of us what you found and what it's inspired you to write.
