Join The Haunted Post Parade Everyday Starting Oct. 25th 2015
Each day from the Sunday before Halloween to All Hallow's Eve we will feature a Halloween themed post parade where AR members can link their Halloween themed posts, vote for their favorites, and win prizes.
At 12AM EST Sunday morning I will post the Grand Opening of the Haunted Post Parade and AR members who would like to participate may submit the Title of your post with a Link along with a short blurb describing your post in the comment section.
Each day will have a different post parade theme and you can enter as many posts as you wish. There will be a total of 7 Post Parades one for each day from the 25th until the 31st. Below you will find the Post Topics for each day.
Everyone on AR is invited to vote for their favorite Haunted Post Parade posts by hitting the like button for your favorite(s), the person with the most "likes" total for the entire week will win the Grand Prize and the exalted title of The Grand Lord or Lady of the Danse Macabre but you must post a least one post to be entered in the contest.
PRIZES for the event will be announced in an upcoming post. There will be gift prizes for each daily post parade winner and hopefully points for The Grand Lord or Lady of the Danse Macabre. You need a personal costumed profile pic and a 300 word post describing your inspiration for your costume. The AR member with the most Halloween post parade posts and likes for all posts combined will win the Grand Prize(to be announced). Entries must be received by 12:00PM Midnight All Hallows Eve, lest you turn into a pumpkin. Voting will be continuously open for all post parade posts until Nov. 2nd.

How to Create a Costume for Your Profile Pic:
Welcome to the Haunted Laboratory where the horrors of head replacement are realized. No your Health Care provider won't cover the cost of cosmetic head replacement surgery but with a sharp enough sense of humor and a little tweaking of those dull and rusty photo editing tools you too can have a costumed profile pic worth voting for.
As you can see here, delirious from the pain, I am in preparation for body reassignment surgery(eat your heart out Kaitlyn Jenner), and once complete I will have a fancy new profile pic custom costumed especially for Halloween!
Averse to losing your head over a Halloween costume?
Here are two relatively painless options to create a costume for your Active Rain Profile Pic. If you need some instruction, last years Co-Winner and Grande Dame of the Danse Macabre, Sharon Tara has some excellent instructional videos such as this decapitating Tutorial - How To Swap Heads In A Photo. Kathy Streib our other Grande Dame and Co-Winner also has a post where she shares her photo editing experiences with Sensei/Grasshopper Was Right Under My Nose.
Option 1) wear a costume and take a selfie, upload your costumed selfie to your Active Rain profile on Halloween. As you can see, even a clown can do it. So no excuses. The picture dimensions should be square. exactly like these two examples.
Option 2) Ribbet.com is a fun and free photo editing resource that is relatively easy to use and adds neat little treats to your Profile Pic like zombie eyes, cobwebs, and lighting bolts check it out Ribbet.com
