Every parent thinks their child is the most special child ever to have come into this world. Sorry to tell you, but Nathaniel Foster Cole IS the most special child ever to come into this world. Ha! I say that with love, pride and just a touch of snarkiness thrown in.
Nate's our only child and he is very kind, thoughtful, loving and loyal, but he can also be stubborn and unyielding. He's not perfect, but I could not be prouder of the person he's growing into.
One day I was sitting at my computer typing and Nate walked into the room. He asked me "Mom, what EXACTLY do you do? I mean I know you work with Realtors and it is about social media, but what do you do for them?"
I thought that was an excellent question and I remember asking my dad that very question. I said to him, "My job is to zig when everyone else zags. I try to get my clients out in front of the pack online because otherwise they don't stand out and if they don't stand out then they don't attract the business they need."
He thought about this for a bit and said, "Like on your birthday how you talked about the 2 Realtors who sent you cards in the mail and how special that was?"
I said, "Exactly!! They stood out as they were the only 2 who did that and it is about doing what the others are not and that's why I decided to join that card company I told you about."
I guess he took this to heart because he said that's why he wears a bow tie, instead of a necktie. No other kid, 'yet' has worn a bow tie. He was teased at first, but at the last concert, as I stood there straightening his bow tie a girl approached us to say, "Mrs. Cole, Nate is so cute. I just love his bow tie." The teachers also notice. Why? It's because he DARES to be different and because of that he is memorable and I believe one day very successful.
