Years ago I was a member of the Searcy Junior Auxiliary. You serve for 5 years and then you can become a life member, which I still am. While being an active member the goal is to help children. 
The members have various projects to help the children and they have one big charity ball to raise money to fund the projects. They do a great job and work hard on their projects and on the annual ball.

Go to their web site and chick on Black and White Charity Ball photos and see some of the beautiful Searcy people including our Governor Mike Beebe and his wife, Ginger, who was queen of the ball. Governor Mike and Ginger Beebe are long-timeSearcy Arkansas residents. Right now, however, they are residents of the Governor's mansion in Little Rock and spend as much time as they can in Searcy. Searcy Arkansas if proud to have the Governor from our city.
