But the house did not FEEL good.....

But the house did not FEEL good.....

Ever had a buyer that came out of the home after viewing, and could not pinpoint WHY they did not like it?

Ever had a buyer say -- the home made them feel weird or creepy?

Maybe it was the decor like statues, strange photos or just a feeling?

Showed a home over the weekend where there were pieces of paper on the front and back door, and also on every bedroom door.    It said the wife could not remove anything from the home that was marital and the court date would not be until January 2016.

The Buyers left the home knowing this was not the home, as it felt like it had very negative energy in the home.   The listing agent had no idea this had been done.

When listing your home, it should be clean, smell good and feel inviting in order for buyers to fall in love!

Good morning, Joan Cox I think that feeling happens periodically for one reason or another.... and the agent is on to the next one....

Hi Joan -- sometimes a buyer can't put a finger on the reason why they don't prefer a certain home while other times its blatantly obvious.   Stuff happens. Next.

That is a tough message to offer up to buyers, Joan...it does give off the negative energy...as Barbara says it is off to the next one.

No excuse for that but a lazy person...you can put things away, rearrange them...lots of ways to deal with this..if you WANT to...clearly she has no interest in selling which is often the case in divorce.

Hello Joan,  Interesting on this one, we all run into some homes that do not feel right.  Have a good day!

I recall Dolores having that feeling when we were considering a home many years ago.

Actually I had a set of buyers a couple of years ago who had a young daughter who said while in the house she felt bad spirits were there.  That young girl feel down the steps on the way out the door.  She said she felt pushed.  Frankly I never even showed it again.

I had a listing once where a wife put up crazy notes like your case.  I made her take them down. A note won't stop anyone and it was crazy bad ju ju.  It didn't sell though.  Still on the market with another broker.

that is a tough one to overcome there... maybe another newly divorcing buyer may work?

Joan... this is an interesting story to say the least. But even in more "normal" circumstances, buyers sometimes just don't "feel" a home. And I always tell them that's ok, as there's always a door with their name on it. We just have to go hunt it down.

Very interesting information when you start hearing from a buyer about how they feel about certain properties, definitely is helpful to understand what they are really looking for.

Did you call the listing agent and disclose what the husband had done to that home? Divorce situations are always a bit complicated, but this one sounds adverse, and that idiot is shooting himself in the foot.

Joan

When home doesn't feel right to the customer it's time to move on . . . .  and look at other homes.

Joan Cox one of the things I tell my buyers - it's that first step and a feeling that comes with should decide that the home is for you (or not for you!)

We all know well, people by emotionally and justify logically!
