This has been a week of good and bad. The weather has been absolutely spectacular. Warm, sunny. There are daffodils and flowering trees everywhere. My two favorite trees are in bloom at the same time.
I got one listing under contract and did a successful agreement on another. (God willing they will both pass inspection). Worked out 4 days at the gym and had a lot of laughs with the friends I have made there.

In a seemingly good week, a dear friend got some very bad news about her health and had surgery yesterday. Then she got some better news following it but we are still waiting for the biopsy reports.

She's in wonderful spirits today and not feeling much pain.
Wednesday night I got home late from work, made a plate of nachos and poured a glass of wine. I stood up with the empty plate of nachos and the almost full glass of wine and felt dizzy. Tried to lean on the wall for a second and the next thing I knew, my 11 year old was standing next to me and I was on the floor. Red wine and broken glass everywhere. I hit my head very badly and got a cut over my left eye. I get these little dizzy spells every now and again, but they pass in seconds. I've had them all my life and have never found a doctor who felt they were important enough to pay attention to before.

Never fell down before, and as for the bang on the head, well, I think God could have found a gentler way of reminding me that maybe I should go and try to talk to a doctor about it.
Which brings me to the subject of my blog. Life is full of surprises. Both good and bad. As Realtors, we all understand this instinctively as we live it every day. One minute you are on top of the world, 3 sales in a week, 4 lisings. The next minute, 3 bad home inspections and the sellers of the 4 listings decide not to take the transfers. On the other hand, one minute you are down in the dumps because you have no settlements coming up and absolutely no prospects and then the next minute you check your email and an old client is moving back into the area. I think our profession teaches us to roll with the punches. Every day we are reminded to celebrate the good news and take the bad news with a grain of salt (sometimes on the glass of a tall drink).
I've written a lot about the many good friends I have been so blessed to have. Two of them insisted I go the doctor's office yesterday. There's a new doc in town (Dr. Tanya Zelensky, M.D.) and she actually listened to the story of my brief dizzy spells and mini black outs and decided it was time to run some tests. First off was a cat scan just to make sure the fall on my noggin didn't shake anything important loose. I don't have the results yet, but I'm thinking, if anything shakes loose, maybe it will be a good thing. Because in this business, you never know.
Susan - Great post - thanks for sharing about your situation. I hope things turn out well for both you and your friend. It's so true that this business brings a lot of ups and downs and we have to roll with the flow. I always find that when one opprotunity disappears another one presents itself - just like you said. Best wishes.
