From October through January business planning is on many successful agents minds. I will be teaching multiple CE classes from October to January.  I created the class about 3 or so years ago and it's way past time to update the presentation.  It needs more pizazz!  It needs YOUR ideas!

ActiveRain members are among the great leaders in our industry. Who better to ask for input then all of you!  If you would be so kind, take a few moments and think about business planning.  Many agents dread the idea of creating a business plan. In fact, most agents don't create one every year - this is what I hear from students/agents. My business plan class was created with this fact in mind. KISS. And I'd like to shake up the class with input from the best of the best in the industry - ActiveRain members!

Please share 1 or 2 of YOUR absolutely, must do or must haves on YOUR Business Plan!

I plan to re-work the  PP presentation and include new ideas that we gather together on this post. And of course, in the process the class will also be about ActiveRain, the importance of blogging, Internet Marketing etc etc.   I'd like to quote you guys/gals along with a picture - if you don't mind of course!

Thanks!

Your post makes me wish I was a realtor, Anna Banana Kruchten!  Ms. Anna .. my TEACHER!!   Wow ...

But while I am not a realtor,  ... your post reminded me today that I am needing to get an email out to the lenders in my branch about their business plans.  I'm a firm believer in them and the good they can do.

I know you'll get great feedback from AR members for your class.

Many agents get in to down mode over the fall and winter months.  They think business has slowed and this is a good time to take care of cleaning out the garage or other home projects.  Then they wonder why they have no business in the New Year.

I am not great at writing down a business plan.  I am more vocal about it all.  I think one thing that should be on the business plan is how to make a splash on December 26th.  Some type of campaign that gets people back into the real estate mode after the holidays.  It can be a listing postcard to your favorite neighborhood or an ad in a local pamphlet.  Now is the time to start thinking about getting visible for the new year.

Belinda Spillman that may be true in 'colder' climates but not here as we're all excited it's cooling down a bit. So you talk about it and think about your plan - that's focus.  That is a  good idea - right after the holiday have a plan in place to get things rocking after the holidays. Thanks!

One of my musts it to break down my business from an income goal to a number of homes sold goal.  It is easier for friends on social media to get around a homes sold tally than an income goal.  And that way they are more likely to feel any contribution, be it a referral of a $150,000 condo or a $1Million mini mansion, counts equally.

Chris Ann Cleland agreed!  # of homes sold is a good goal.

Hi Anna -- I wish this was a webinar that many more could enjoy and learn. As Chris Ann Cleland commented breaking down the desired sales volume into units is important at making the message easier to convey.
