Have mercy will you, make it a larger size than the default font.

I have a few pieces of advice on this.  Today I clicked on a post and I didn't read it.  It was a tiny print wall of words. It may be really good content. But the fact is, I have really old and tired eyes. And I'm human and it's human nature to want something you are looking at to be look good. That's why newspapers always had photos above the fold.  To attract and keep attention.  A newspaper box with a paper that is a wall of words will not generally sell out, one with photos will. (I spent seven years working at newspaper in my previous career)

So my first piece of advice to is read Craig Daniels ' post on inserting images.  And do one more step for me and add some space around your photo. And put it with text wrapped around to the top or the left.  Another tip is to never make a graph or photo wider than 640 pixels or it looks wonky on phones and tablets. Adding some clip art, photos or graphs makes it easier to read and more appealing.

Spacing matters too and this is something I need to work on myself.
Addling a extra break between paragraphs can help break up a post even if you don't have art. But please put some art. Mind you don't just cut and paste, but make sure it's free to use for commercial purposes, a paid service you subscribe to or something you own or your own photo. Copyright matters people.

Have you noticed each new paragraph I start out bold. That too gives more interest and keeps people reading. Paragraphs of just a few sentences are best to keep someones attention as well. You want to cover a topic, but you need to have photos or something to help break up the text and make it visually appealing.

The last thing I'd like to address is size. Have mercy will you, make it a larger size than the default font. This is 12pt and my opinion is this should be default minimum, but nobody ask me when they were setting up the editor. But seriously isn't larger better than the default size? In case you can't see that it's says "But Seriously isn't larger better than the default size?"

One of the secrets to get more comments is to have an interesting photograph in your blog.

I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Dolores and I took a Saturday day trip to Westminster, Maryland and returned in time to attend the Kentlands/Lakelands wine and beer tasting event on Saturday night. Life is good!
