Morning Inspiration: "Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers." Jesus, quoted in Matthew 24:9
"Are you a Christian?" the shooter asked. Those who said yes were shot and killed, according to eyewitnesses. Ten people who thought everything was fine yesterday, are dead today. We mourn for them and their families, and we wonder "WHAT is the world coming to?"
We're shocked...but shouldn't be. Jesus warned us over 2,000 years ago this was coming...and the beginning of those days have arrived. Until now, we have been incredibly blessed, favored and protected in this nation. We've seen all the beheadings, burnings and mass killings of Christians in the middle east and Europe...but never believed it would happen here. Even after a recent mass murder at a US church, we've been in denial. Fact is, attacks on churches and Christians have been growing steadily, and we should expect that to continue. At least the government is not attacking us, as happens in many other nations. At least not yet.
I believe we must pray for the best...and prepare for the worst. Talk with family and close friends about your faith. Discuss what you would say or do if faced with a life and death question or situation. Make SURE you are spiritually prepared to meet Jesus face to face! Pray for the courage to do what is right in God's sight, no matter what. Refuse to let anger and hatred have any place in your heart. Whatever happens, continue to trust completely in God, and do NOT be afraid! In Matthew 10:28, Jesus tells us: Don't be afraid of those who want to kill your body, they cannot touch your soul."
Live EVERY day as if it's your last one on this earth, by making Jesus the center of everything you think, say and do. This life has great value...but it is not our final destination.
