Take a VACATION or ROLL THE DICE on some buyers?

Every time I go on vacation, business improves.  I think it happens for a lot of reasons, but now I am trying to decide whether or not to cancel my 4 day beach trip to San Diego.

Here's the deal.  I've been chatting online with some buyers from California.  They're definitely going to buy a house.  They're definitely coming to town when I was planning on being gone.  My tickets are not booked yet.

I sent the paperwork for them to sign and haven't seen anything yet.  They keep saying they're going to send it, but they haven't.  They still want daily help.

One more piece to the puzzle: the husband is an attorney and a real estate broker.  My gut instinct tells me they would sign if they wanted to work with me, and that I'm just spinning my wheels.

What would you do?  Take the vacation?  Stay just in case it really pans out?  Continue to help and hope they'll sign?  I know some agents never get paperwork signed until they write the offer, which in many states means they're really working for the seller without a buyer agency agreement.

Ahhhh.  It's almost fishing season.  But, then, there are those 15 agents waiting for me to call them with a buyer or seller referral.

What to do.  What to do.

Take the vacation and in the event they come into town call an agent to take care of them.  Or stay in town and kick yourself if they don't come in.

I would continue to help them, but I would not cancel my trip. Sometimes we can put our lives on hold for clients and miss out on experiences for ourselves. We need a chance to rejuvenate.

I'm with Julie on this one.   We work to live, we don't live to work.    Some times we need to get away from the buisness to reboost ourselves.

I agree with everyone that says "Go on the Vacation"... You can always pass this Buyer off to a friend at your office and "IF" they show up and get a referral. But, don't ruin your needed down time in-case they are a no show..

Go on vacation, but use a little guilt, too ... let them know you have been planning to take a trip, but their business is important (obviously it is!), and you are taking your laptop specifically to aid them while you are away.  Furthermore, you look forward to the paperwork being at your office when you return from your trip...

Hope you went on your trip and had a good time. Let us know what happened with the buyers.
