Shower Power

When Matt and I walked through our house yesterday we noticed there was a mistake in our master shower.  When we remodeled the bathroom in our first house, our two shower heads didn't turn out quite as planned, so we are determined to get this one right.  We're supposed to have two shower heads - each on their own faucet/handle/whatever you call that part of a shower set-up.  (Perhaps our lacking knowledge of proper shower terminology has been part of the problem.)

At any rate, we have two handle/faucets... perfectly placed right by the glass shower door.  (So you can reach in and turn on the water while you're still dressed and the water can be nice and hot by the time you climb in.)  But, the plumber(s) put both shower heads on the same short wall of the shower.

During our design center visit, we had determined that we wanted the main shower head where you would expect it to be, centered on the short wall, but we wanted an adjustable hand-held shower head on the long wall (by the handles/faucets).

But, before making a big deal of the 'mistake' I wanted to make sure that the plumber didn't just have more insight than us - and maybe we'd actually prefer both shower heads on the same wall - so I called Matt to see if he wanted to ride out to our neighborhood on his lunch and stand in the model home's shower with me.

"If you're too busy today," I told him, "I can stand in there with Jason (the salesman) or Mike (our foreman)."

Well, he made time to run out there with me:)

So, we stood in the model home's shower and concluded that we really did want the two shower heads on two different walls.  Then we went down to our house and met with Mike.  He used his can of orange spray paint to note the move, and all should be corrected in the next few days.

While we were still in the model's mater bathroom, I mentioned that I would need a counter-stool and not a typical chair for my vanity.  (Because I opted against the dropped down countertop... I just think the solid, all-one-level countertop will look nicer - and should be easier to decorate.)

"How often do you really think you're going to sit there?" Matt asked.

"Um, ALL THE TIME!"

I can't wait to sit and dry my hair, and straighten my hair, and put on my make-up.  I may even sit to brush my teeth - who knows!?!  Gone are the days of doing my Zoomba dancing while I dry my hair... I'll probably gain a few pounds due to my new sedentary morning routine, but it will be worth it.
