Forget the Facebook Dislike...Facebook is Letting ALL Emotions Out!

A few weeks ago Facebook's Mark Zuckeberg announced to the world that Facebook will finally work on a 'dislike' button. In my blog about it I voiced my concern on the implications of such a button for business pages. It is one thing for customers or clients to dislike something if you provided bad service, but a dislike button could also open up the doors for abuse from one disgruntled customer or a disgruntled former employee.

Forget that old news!

Today the social media giant began testing 'Reactions' a set of emoji style buttons you can use to express how you feel about your friends status.

The emojis will be available throughout News Feed & Pages posts on the web and iOS/Android apps.

When can you expect to see the new feature?

Facebook declined to say when it will be released in the US, the feature is life as a test market in Spain & Ireland.

Feel free to join us on some free webinars on Facebook for real estate professionals and other real estate learning here.

Keys to Real Estate Leads also offers a course that teaches agents how to dominate and stand out from the crowed in the noisy online world as well as helping agent NOT BUY LEADS!

The course covers everything from building a professional website, building landing pages, and generating tons of leads from Facebook, Google and other online sources. If you want to succeed, it is a great investment that teaches you how to do every part of online lead generation and does not just keep selling you products.

I like these reaction buttons better than merely a dislike button.

The dislike button is also still in the works so I am sure we will be seeing both before the end of the year is my guess.

We do not need any more negativity or the tearing down of others.  This will be interesting.

I am not a fan of dislike. If we don't like we just don't need to click the like button.

Stefan-  I don't think I'm a fan of the "Dislike" button.  However, I like a "sad" emoji because it is kind of awkward when someone has bad news .  How can you "like' that.

The emojis seem like a great idea.  Sometimes someone will post a sad event.  You don't want to like it but you'd like to acknowledge it.  Emojis will work great in these instances.

Stefan Winter this is a good news! I have seen likes on posts that is sharing sad news - and I did not like that.

Not in favor of dislike - however, sometimes I do feel that way.

And as long as they limit these emoji's to few, that's fine. Do not want to cross the line....lol!

Thanks for your contribution to community - really appreciate it. (Special thanks once again for AR Referral Group on Facebook).

So true:

It is one thing for customers or clients to dislike something if you provided bad service, but a dislike button could also open up the doors for abuse from one disgruntled customer or a disgruntled former employee.

Thank you for the update.  Generally many people don't tolerate negative feedback very well.   This change makes negative feedback EZ, and so EZ that it can be a rapid emotional reaction.  May drive the use of Facebook down.

I'm in total agreement with Joe Pryor .  No need for a dislike button.....just unfollow or unfriend someone.  Or, kindly leave your comments on how or why your disagree, but not need to be harsh or rude.

A fan of words and not so much a fan of the sad faces, etc.  Be interesting how the public responds.  In this age of being brief the little smily face will most likely take the prize.

I dislike the Dislike button.... see what I did there?

I'll give Facebook and their myriad of researchers the benefit of a doubt that these new features will be great for us. They aren't always but most of the time they end up working alright.
