Random thoughts to end my week

I hate when a mistake gets made, but I also own it when it happens and this one was on me. Now I didn't read or type the mistake, but in the end if it goes out of my office wrong, that's on me.  It was a lesson learned and one more thing I have to check. For this instance I'm doing what I can to assist in the correction. The fact that everyone who can help will off on a holiday tomorrow isn't helping.  We're likely going to have to push the Friday closing because of a mistake.

The annual family fair day was awesome.  Have you ever eaten a bite of a fried snickers bar? I certainly don't recommend a whole one, but that ONE bite is really really good. And if you are at the fair this week stop by and have a burger to steak sandwich at the VFW booth.  It's the ONLY local food vendor and well, that was a pretty awesome few bites that I had of Donald's steak sandwich too. I still have half my annual bag of cotton candy.

It's fall. Pros: are it's not hot as blazes anymore.  Cons:  I will be cold starting in the morning and warm again sometime next spring. And the winter itch will be here soon and well lotion helps, but it doesn't stop it.

The Falcons won again. 5 games in a row. WOW.

My animals all seem very needy tonight. My lap hasn't not had one of the 5 at home in it since I walked in the door from dinner. I have one beside me right now tapping gently on my arm for attention. So I'm wrapping this up and getting back to petting skitty kitty.

Cats on your lap are the PERFECT way to end the week or any day of the week, for that matter.

I enjoyed reading your post. I have not tried a fried Snickers bar.

Tammy Lankford,

I certainly can't eat more than one bite.  I think perhaps the bite size ones would be better.

I find that the neediness of my pet correlates to my own - sounds like their attention was just what you needed to hearl from the "mistakes" of the day. And incidentally as one that beats myself up badly from personal mistakes, I get that - and I think a combination of affection from my cat and a fried snickers bar is a great cure.  That plus a  little self-talk --- repeat after me, "I'm ok, all will be well..."

Tammy Lankford,

Hopefully by the end of business tomorrow this little number reading mistake will be history and resolved.  And yes, the fur kids always know what I need before I do.

Good morning Tammy. Be the responsible one isn't easy but clearly matters. I understand the needy animal thing too. The fair sounds great. I'm off to hike with friends soon. I hope your day is productive.

Tammy Lankford,

Well half way done with fixing the mistake, so yes, pretty productive. And it is a great fair.

Tammy,  mistakes happen. I like that you own the mistake even though it was not made directly at your hands.  Fried Snickers ... I cannot even imagine. Take care of loving on the kitties.

Tammy Lankford,

Oh, but yes you can imagine.  frozen snickers dipped in funnel cake batter than then plopped into a deep frier for about a minute, it comes out warm and gooey.  But like I said one bite once a year is enough for me.  My daughter and her boyfriend had fried oreo cookies.

Tammy I don't know anybody who is perfect 100% of the time. Making things right is what we do.  Fried snickers?  Ahhhh maybe not for me!

Oct 12, 2015 01:27 AM
Tammy Lankford,

don't knock it til you take one bite Anna.  It was pretty darn good.

Hi Tammy Lankford ,  I'm sure everyone makes mistakes, so it shows you're human. Even Southwest Airlines makes mistakes!  They say it was computer problems, but I always heard "Garbage in - Garbage out".  I have not tried the fried snickers bar yet.  It sounds kinda Sweet.  As far as the Kitties, Animals are always a joy to have, with their own peronalities.

Oct 12, 2015 07:25 AM
Tammy Lankford,

I wouldn't eat an entire snickers even not fried. EVER.  So one bite was enough for me for the year.  Now three days later my cotton candy is gone too.

Tammy Lankford,

it sure was a learning experience. And one I won't EVER forget.  It was a first with 24 years in the business.

Kudos Tammy.  I get so tired of hearing someone state, about a mistake or oversight, "oh my assistant did that".  I don't ever here that statement when kudos are being handed out and yet an agent has already admitted they have an assistant doing much of their work.  We all make mistakes.  Would not be human if we did not.  Of course owning up to our mistakes is on a whole different level.  Make it a great day.  Mark
