The Claw Marks of Ancient Giants, The New York Finger Lakes Regionfinger lakes ny

On the map and from the air it appears as if a giant reached out and scratched Deep North South Valleys across this part of the world.

Some in magnificent long lakes and others in more swampy valleys, like those we at Woodland Management Service are working in on the Tug Hill Plateau.

finger lakes nyThe well-known lakes that we find in Central New York include; the Canandaigua, Keuka, Seneca, Cayuga, Owasco, and Skaneateles.

The Largest, Seneca is one of the deepest bodies of water in the United States.

Originally the home to The Seneca and Cayugas Indians, it has since been a place of agriculture due to the connection to the Erie Canal and tourism with abundant forests that surround these beautiful lakes and valleys.

Good morning, Bob Crane This is the area where Dave grew up & learned to hunt & fish with his dad & uncles.  His sister & family live Keuka Lake so we make the trip across I-86 quite often.

Enjoy your time working on Tug Hill, one of the coldest & snowiest sections of upstate NY.

Good morning Bob,

You got the six of the eleven lakes; the others are Honeoye, Hemlock, Otisco, Canadice and Conesus. Some will say the thumb Oneida occasionally as well and Seneca is the middle finger!

Are you still in the vicinity?

Make yourself a great day.

Good morning Ray yes we are still working here just a little above the thumb on the Tug Hill Plateau.
In a race to get a minimum of 811 plots done before the snow flies it is tough miserable work in the rain but it should be worth it.

I am sure that the only giants scratching NY were glaciers about 12 thousand years ago.
