The Fall Real Estate Market is going strong in DC
According to stats from Real Estate Business Intelligence, pending sales are at their highest level since 2005. Most homes sales in Northern Virginia and the Maryland suburbs are linked with the school calendar. Even so, the market activity this September is competitive in popular neighborhoods like Arlington, Alexandria and Falls Church. In the District, housing inventory is still catching up to home buyer demand. It's not uncommon to have multiple contracts on condos with limited square footage and no parking included.
The closer you want to live to Washington DC, the more competitve the housing market
Home buyers who choose to commute, using Metro or Marc train service, have more housing options. In Maryland, the housing market is less competitive in upper Montgomery, Howard, Frederic, Anne Arundel and Charles counties. In Virginia, Loudon, Prince William, Fauquier and Culpeper counties all have less competitive housing markets than the counties closer to Washington DC.
