WARTY FROGFISH NOW IN TROPICAL DISCOVERY
Their species’ name might not win many fans, but you should still definitely check out our new warty frogfish in Tropical Discovery. Found throughout the Indian Ocean, these interesting-looking fish use the bumps on their bodies and variety of colors to blend in with their aquatic habitat. Special appendages on top of their heads, which resemble worms, lure in unsuspecting prey like fishing rods. This fish is unique in that it actually walks more than it swims, using its unusually-placed pectoral fins. See them now in the sea urchin exhibit right across from the spiny lobster exhibit.

EXPLORE THE ZOO WITH YOUR LITTLE ONES
Inspire your children to explore their inherent curiosity of the natural world at Denver Zoo’s Early Explorer Expeditions – Colors of Nature series, with remaining classes on October 17, 21, 27, each from 9 to 10 a.m. This program is specifically designed for children between the ages of 2 and 4, who are accompanied by an engaged adult. Participants will take part in special hands-on experiences, zoo exploration and investigation through play, as we cultivate connections between children and the world around them. Each expedition also includes a live animal encounter from our education collection. For more information or to register, please visit our website.
