Like many of the communities in middle Georgia, Byron got its start as a farm town, specifically a major peach grower for the state. Although small in size (both physical space and number of residents), this community has the distinction of being the only city in this area that encompasses two counties (Houston and Peach).
Byron residents boast a proud heritage with plenty of community improvements, including a bustling downtown area, as well as a host of antebellum homes from a bygone era.
Byron has seen several new subdivisions and commercial properties popping up in recent years as new consumers have found the cost of living very reasonable in this community.
With Robins AFB 25 minutes away, and plenty of excellent educational and entertainment options, Byron GA is definitely a solid location for your first, next, or last home in Houston County GA.
