TO SET THE SCENE:
A cup of tea on hand and the laptop in front of me, I was just about to take a few minutes to check in on Activerain. This is my way to relax, or shift gears, from another very busy day.
THEN THE CALL COMES:
It goes something likes this: "Are you still in real estate?" Yes, I confirm that I am, and can I help you? So he says, "I notice that you are not as visible on social media as you used to be. PEOPLE MIGHT THINK THAT YOU ARE NO LONGER IN THE BUSINESS"
NOPE, I said, I just don't get to it as much BECAUSE I AM SO BUSY.
AFTER I CLICKED OFF, I DECIDED I SHOULD AT LEAST THINK ABOUT IT: AM I MISSING OUT?
I like to get on my social media sites including Activerain, Facebook, Google+ and YouTube when the spirit moves me. Usually, when I take breaks from handling actual clients. Like now!
BUT TO TURN IT OVER TO STRANGERS?
Just keeping track of what messages I want to put out there by this total stranger boggles my mind. What else would I need to turn over to strangers? The content of my websites? I enjoy keeping my "brand" what it is, I've enjoyed building it up and now I am reaping the fruits:
I'M HAVING MY BEST YEAR EVER!
What I'm doing is "leveraging" the clients that are signing up with me whether they are buyers or sellers, whether they are in California or Hawaii.
What do I mean by "leveraging"? There are a whole lot of things others can help me with to get a client to closing. It also includes getting listings onto my websites, designs and handling of signs, transaction coordination up to a point including setting up inspections, and generally make life easier for me.
OTHER THINGS THAT I'VE CONSIDERED IN THE PAST AND MIGHT WANT TO RETHINK:
- getting on the first page of GOOGLE: I'm all over that with quite a few websites. Nope.
- writing for me as if it comes from me; no way, that's way too personal. Plus, I enjoy writing myself.
- signing up for leads; I may consider that but I need help in following them up, I don't have time.
YOU SEE, MR. CALLER, CLIENTS AND POTENTIAL CLIENTS ARE CALLING ME.
They call me on my multitude of listings and asking me to find them real estate - both here and in Hawaii.
