What better place to ask my fellow Brokers for advice than "in the Rain"? My aging parents are looking for a retirement destination and my husband and I are saving toward that iminent goal...(after all, the last 40something years just FLEW by, so the next several will. Every time I turn around, it's my birthday again!)

Lower cost of living is usually a concern for most retirees, but even more so, I think comfort and climate is important. Being a large woman...to put it mildly, :-) I prefer warm, but NOT HOT AND HUMID. California is the logical solution, but it's EXPENSIVE.

We don't want to live in the desert, but are there other reasonably priced places to retire? Let me know your thoughts.

I am also open to hearing about other temperate locations throughout the country. Not TOO hot or TOO cold!

I wonder what property in Wine Country was going for when this fella' lived there?

If you really love your parents send them to me in Hawaii. Joking, but seriously. We have a great area for retirees.

OK Patrick...I did think of Hawaii, but we can't afford that unless I sell A LOT OF HOUSES in the very near future! Where is the good area for retirees? I check out your pro.

Never mind...I see you ARE in Hawaii and that is my first choice, (who wouldn't choose Hawaii first?). I checked out your web site and there are lots of lower end properties. Maybe we can reconsider. Only...I'd have to sail there. I'm scared to fly.

We have a great area for retirees. Discovery Harbour is the most popular. There are many homes on the golf course with awesome ocean and mountain views. When do you plan on booking that cruise? LOL. Hawaii can be very affordable. I made it all the way here from New Jersey and am now ruined! If I had to pack up and move off this island I would just shrivel up and die, unless I was going to Lahaina on Maui ... I love the weather and the views of the other islands there. You can stand in one spot and see the Big Island, Molokai, Lanai, and on a clear day you can see Oahu ... if you know where to look.
