This weekend I spent much needed and appreciated time with my Mother and Sister "Camping". My Mother lives only thirty minutes away so we visit as much as possible. My Sister just moved from Alaska to West Virginia so the visits are more often than the past but a six hour drive.
We decided to get together this weekend and "Camp" with just us girls! Including my only "female", furry friend (Merlot) Hiking, fishing, boating, campfires and lots of yummy food. My mouth is watering thinking about those gooey smores. (Standing stone state park)
During our adventures we came across two snakes, several turtles, wildflowers galore and unforgettable views. A few hours of showers but for the most part we were blessed with warm sunny days. With Spring in it's full glory, Dogwoods and Redbud's painted every corner and everywhere you looked was signs of new life - from baby birds to a single tree sprout making it's way through the forest leaves.
Although we enjoyed nature and all the splendors of camping, Most important we enjoyed eachothers company! Nothing can replace the hours of laughter, giggles and smiles. Hugs and I love you's trailed every sentence and we only continue to bond and grow together as Mother and Daughters, Sisters, Family and Women. We all have busy lives but taking the time to spend with the ones we love is priceless and needed during our lifetime. (Thanks Mom-Barbara and Sis-Tera) This was a weekend I will never forget! (Our next trip this summer is already planned for Fall Creek Falls, State Park).
